A skilled Registered Nurse with Emergency Room experience is needed to provide high-quality care in a dynamic emergency department. This contract position is located in West Lafayette, IN, and offers the opportunity to work within a supportive team environment at a busy Level I trauma center. The role involves delivering expert nursing care to a diverse patient population, including medical, trauma, and mental health cases, across all age groups. The unit maintains a 32-bed capacity with a patient-to-nurse ratio of approximately 4 : 1, ensuring focused patient care supported by advanced equipment and an Epic EMR system. The shift runs from 7 : 00 AM to 7 : 30 PM, with guaranteed weekly hours of 36 and every other weekend scheduled. Key Responsibilities : • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the emergency department • Assess and monitor patients conditions, administer treatments, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams • Utilize life-saving skills in trauma care for patients across the lifespan • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Epic EMR system • Adhere to facility protocols, including dress code and patient safety standards Qualifications : • Valid RN license with a minimum of 3 years of emergency room experience • Current certifications in ACLS, PALS, and BLS required; TNCC preferred • Proven capability to handle patients of all ages and acuities, including medical emergencies and trauma • Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate effectively within a high-paced environment Location Overview : West Lafayette offers a vibrant community with a blend of urban convenience and Midwestern charm.
