A Registered Nurse with Emergency Department experience is needed to provide acute care in a fast-paced hospital setting in Eatonton, GA. This contract role offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work with diverse patient populations presenting with conditions such as chest pain, strokes, diabetes, trauma, and mental health issues. The 22-bed Emergency Department admits an average daily census of 85 patients and operates with modern technology, including EPIC EMR and Phillips cardiac monitors.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage patient care in the ED with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4, depending on zone assignment
• Administer and monitor critical drips including Heparin, Dopamine, Epinephrine, and others
• Perform tasks including phlebotomy, IV/PICC coverage, telemetry monitoring, and charge nurse duties as assigned
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists available 24/7
• Utilize advanced equipment such as Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, bladder scanners, LUCAS devices, and rapid infusers
• Participate in weekend rotations and work assigned major holidays according to schedule
• Attend orientation and ongoing educational modules for competency and growth
Qualifications:
• Active Georgia RN license required
• Minimum 2 years Emergency Department nursing experience preferred
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Basic Cardiac Rhythm certification required
• TNCC and national emergency nursing certification preferred but not mandatory
• Ability to manage high-acuity patients and critical care drips confidently
• Flexibility for 12-hour night shifts (7 PM – 7 AM) with a 6-week rotational weekend and holiday schedule
