Job Description
An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Emergency Room and acute care to provide essential night shift coverage in a small rural critical access hospital setting. This role requires a proactive, confident nurse capable of handling triage responsibilities and serving as the night shift lead for the Emergency Room. In addition to managing emergency cases, the RN will oversee the care team during the night, including a Licensed Practical Nurse and a Certified Nursing Assistant, as well as supervise long-term care nursing and CNA staff.
Key Qualifications:
• Active RN licensure with experience in Emergency Room and acute care nursing
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS required; TNCC preferred
• Strong triage skills and ability to make independent clinical decisions
• Leadership aptitude to supervise night shift care and coordinate with long-term care staff
• Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to assist in non-ER nursing duties such as patient rounds and toileting

Responsibilities:
• Provide night shift nursing care in the Emergency Room and acute care settings
• Perform triage and manage a low patient census with 12 ER patients and few inpatients per shift
• Serve as night shift house supervisor for nursing and support staff
• Participate in patient care support for the long-term care unit, including rounds and toileting assistance
• Collaborate closely with team members to maintain high-quality patient care
Contract Details:
This position is offered on a contract basis, with orientation scheduled prior to the start date.
