Provide critical care in a fast-paced emergency department setting as a registered nurse in an acute care hospital. This contract role offers the opportunity to leverage your expertise across adult and pediatric emergency cases in a Level I trauma center environment known for excellence in patient care and advanced medical services. Position Details: • Work a night shift schedule, either 3x12 or 4x12 (1900-0730) • Support a busy 56-bed emergency department with an average census of 175 daily • Manage a broad spectrum of emergency cases including cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, pediatric, psychiatric, and respiratory patients • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team using Cerner electronic charting • Weekend rotation every other weekend required Qualifications and Experience: • Active Illinois RN license or in application process with clear ETA to apply • Minimum 2 years of emergency nursing experience preferred; first-timers considered • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC • Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, medication administration including vasopressors and procedural sedation • Skilled in managing emergency situations such as dysrhythmias, multisystem organ failure, acute psychosis, and traumatic injuries • Experience with blood product administration, phlebotomy, and pediatric emergency care • Ability to triage and apply isolation precautions effectively Additional Role Information: • No on-call or floating required • The client accommodates discussions on block schedule requests • Parking permit provided at no cost This contract assignment provides a rewarding clinical atmosphere to refine your emergency nursing skills while contributing to high-quality patient outcomes.
