Position Overview: The Emergency Room Registered Nurse provides essential nursing care and strives for patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: • Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the emergency room setting. • Assess and document patient status accurately. • Administer treatments and follow physicians' orders diligently. • Assist in patient positioning and transportation as needed. • Utilize your knowledge of medical equipment, instruments, and procedures effectively. • Keep thorough records of treatments and patient notes to communicate with the healthcare team. • Demonstrate adaptability to new ideas and approaches in patient care. • Administer medications, IV therapy, and drips as prescribed. • Discharge patients as per physician's orders. • Engage in training and continuing education to improve personal and team skills. • Provide immediate care for life-threatening situations in collaboration with physicians. • Perform additional duties as necessary. Qualifications: • Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required. • A valid Illinois nursing license is mandatory. • Current CPR/AED certification or willingness to obtain upon hire. • Prior ER and/or ICU experience is preferred but not mandatory. • Strong skills in managing critical situations are essential. • Ability to work well under pressure and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals. • Familiarity with exposure control plans and universal precautions.
