Emergency Room Registered Nurse Per Diem in Tampa, FL

Location: Tampa Job Type: Per Diem Shift: Three shifts per month Department: Emergency Services Reports To: Nurse Operations Manager / Facility Director Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Room Nurse to join our team at a free-standing emergency department (FSED). This facility provides emergency care for patients of all ages and operates independently from a hospital campus while maintaining the same standards of emergency care. The ER Nurse will assess, triage, and provide direct care to patients experiencing a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities: • Perform rapid assessments, triage, and ongoing monitoring of emergency patients using evidence-based protocols. • Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapy as prescribed and in accordance with facility and nursing protocols. • Collaborate with emergency physicians, advanced practice providers, radiology, and lab personnel to deliver high-quality, timely care. • Manage critical situations such as trauma, cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, and other life-threatening conditions. • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR). • Provide patient and family education regarding treatment, follow-up care, and discharge instructions. • Ensure the ER environment is clean, organized, stocked, and compliant with safety standards. • Participate in emergency preparedness drills, continuing education, and performance improvement initiatives.
