Job Description
Summary:
As a dedicated Emergency Room RN, you will play a crucial role in delivering both routine and complex care to patients in a fast-paced environment. You will work independently while demonstrating strong clinical awareness, adapting to various situations, and contributing to long-range patient care goals.
Responsibilities:
• Exhibit leadership qualities aligned with OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provide exceptional nursing care by following the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for your assigned patients.
• Address a range of psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families, adapting to your level of practice.
• Administer medications and treatments per established protocols, monitoring for effectiveness and potential side effects.
• Accurately document patient history, symptoms, medications, and the care provided.
• Assess educational needs and offer guidance to patients, families, and caregivers, identifying resources to support their journey.
Job Requirements:
Education/Skills:
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is highly preferred.
Experience:
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
• BLS certification is required.
• Current RN License in the state of employment or compact license.
Position Requirements:
Education/Skills:
• Newly hired experienced RNs must complete New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
• New hires will be precepted by a trained staff member, ensuring successful onboarding through designated competency validation.
• Newly licensed RNs may participate in a residency program or specific orientation to enhance skills.
• Completion of annual competency verification requirements is mandatory.
Experience:
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
• Current ACLS certification is required.
• Current PALS certification is required.
• Current TNCC certification is required.
All associates are expected to obtain necessary certifications within the designated time frame as outlined in the CHRISTUS Health policy requirements.
