At SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital, we are on the lookout for dedicated Registered Nurses to provide exceptional care in our Endoscopy department. This is more than just a job; it's a calling to support and care for our patients.
Position Details:
• Full-time, 36 hours a week (72 hours per pay period, paid bi-weekly)
• Schedule: 4, 9-hour shifts, typically Monday through Friday
• Orientation schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
• Flexibility in scheduling may occur post-orientation
Job Summary:
As an Endoscopy Registered Nurse, you will provide direct nursing care in accordance with established protocols and policies. Your focus will be on implementing patient care plans, monitoring patient conditions, and coordinating care among various health disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement and monitor patient care plans while maintaining clear communication regarding patient status.
• Serve as the primary coordinator for patient care across various healthcare professionals.
• Follow and execute physician and nursing orders accordingly.
• Assess and collaborate on discharge planning with healthcare team members.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to deliver age-specific and clinically appropriate nursing care.
• Demonstrate professional nursing standards as outlined in the professional practice model, guided by the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.
• Maintain a constant state of alertness and adhere to safety protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school or equivalent educational experience required.
• No prior experience necessary; new graduates are welcome to apply.
Physical Requirements:
• Constant verbal communication skills required.
• Significant standing and walking required throughout the shift.
• Frequent lifting of objects up to 25 lbs and occasional lifting of patients and heavier objects.
• Frequent use of sensory skills such as vision, smell, and hearing.
Licensure and Certifications:
• Must possess Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license required in the respective state of employment.
