Job Summary and Qualifications The HCA Nurse Residency Program equips you with essential tools for success in the hospital setting. This paid program includes a series of structured learning experiences, such as: • Advanced clinical training in a specialized field • Monthly educational workshops • Preceptorship with experienced facility preceptors • Hands-on skill assessments through simulations • Mentorship from seasoned nurse leaders • Collaboration on an evidence-based practice project Residency Opportunities: Intermediate and Progressive Care roles are available at: • North Austin Medical Center • St. David's Medical Center • South Austin Medical Center • Round Rock Medical Center • Heart Hospital of Austin Upcoming Cohorts: Start dates are available in May, June, July, and August of March 2026. The RN Resident will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in line with departmental needs and nursing standards, advocating for patients, families, and caregivers to ensure an exceptional patient experience. Your Responsibilities: • Assess patient conditions at admission and during shifts, noting and reporting any changes • Perform medical procedures as ordered, documenting care in patient records thoroughly • Administer prescribed medications and monitor for patient responses, intervening as necessary • Provide outstanding service by promptly addressing patient requests and anticipating needs • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on medical conditions, treatment plans, and medications Qualifications Required: • BLS certification obtained within 30 days of employment • ACLS certification obtained within the first year • Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse status in the State • An Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing • No prior experience necessary • Some travel may be required for training About St. David's Healthcare: We are one of the largest healthcare systems in Texas and the third-largest employer in the Austin area, created through a partnership between HCA Healthcare and local non-profits.
