Job Summary and Qualifications

The HCA Nurse Residency Program provides vital tools to excel in today’s hospital environment. This paid initiative will assist in your transition from classroom experiences to practical application through a range of learning opportunities, including:
• Advanced clinical training in specialized areas.
• Monthly educational sessions.
• Hands-on training with a preceptor.
• Skill evaluations through practical simulations.
• Mentorship from experienced nurse leaders.
• Collaboration on evidence-based practice projects.

The RN Resident will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while adhering to departmental requirements and nursing standards. Collaborating with medical professionals and care team members, the RN Resident provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing processes. The RN Resident also serves as an advocate for patients and families, ensuring an exceptional patient experience.

Responsibilities in this role include:
• Assessing patient conditions during admission and each shift, reporting any changes promptly.
• Performing procedures and documenting care in the patient medical record accurately and on time.
• Administering prescribed medications and monitoring their effects.
• Providing timely responses to patient requests, anticipating needs, and resolving them proactively.
• Educating patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding.

Qualifications needed:
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within 1 year of employment.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Registered Nurse License or eligibility as a Graduate Nurse in the State.
• No previous experience required.
• Potential travel for training may be needed.
