Description:
The Nurse Manager is responsible for effectively managing the activities of the Emergency Services; supervises the clinical team leaders as they direct & coordinate the daily operations & development of staff. The Nurse Manager utilizes knowledge of nursing practice & applies the management principles of planning, organizing, directing & evaluating quality of nursing practice & patient care, as prescribed by professional standards. Coordinates educational classes to meet the annual competency requirement of the staff.
Position Requirements:
A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Maintains current Georgia professional nursing license. ACLS, BLS, ENPC & TNCC required. Instructor in each certification is preferred. Membership in a professional organization preferred.
B. Education: Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing, able to read & write English, Baccalaureate degree required, Master’s Degree in Nursing or Business preferred. Certification in area of specialty preferred.
C. Experience: Minimum of three to five years Emergency Services experience, at least two, which were Supervisory experience. Demonstrates leadership ability with excellent performance ratings.

Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge & skills necessary to direct & provide care appropriate to the ages of patients served.
Must be able to plan, organize & coordinate varied & complex operations.
Must be able to select, supervise, train & evaluate employees.
Counsels & disciplines staff as indicated & by policy & procedure.
Accountable for these services on a twenty-four hour basis.
Must be aware of possible electrical, chemical, mechanical & radiation hazards.
Must consistently use universal precautions; maintain body substance isolation to prevent cross contamination between patients & personnel. Maintain OSHA standards.
