
Float Registered Nurse II - Full Time in Gilliam, LA
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Float Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care in Medsurg, Telemetry, and Intermediate Care settings. As a critical member of our nursing team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering patient-centered care while demonstrating your ability to manage complex clinical situations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate leadership in your nursing practice as outlined in the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Lead Yourself, Lead Others, or Lead Leaders.
• Embrace flexibility by being available for varied assignments across our nursing departments.
• Communicate your availability to accept assignments regularly.
• Provide nursing care across multiple units, showcasing versatility in clinical settings.
• Deliver care in accordance with the American Nurses Association (ANA) Scope and Standards, employing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Address the diverse psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families.
• Administer medications and treatments following established protocols while monitoring for effectiveness and potential side effects.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess educational needs and deliver instruction to patients, families, and caregivers, navigating available resources effectively.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of combined experience in Medsurg, Telemetry, and Intermediate Care is required; 5 years preferred.
• Licenses and Certifications: BLS and ACLS certification required; RN license in the state of employment or compact required; PALS required at CHRISTUS Children's Hospital.
Work Schedule: 7 PM - 7 AM
