Job Summary As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), you will play a vital role as a caregiver, providing resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance in a long-term care environment. Under the supervision of a registered nurse, you will: • Deliver age-appropriate care based on residents' physical and psychological needs as outlined in their care plans. • Assist residents with essential daily activities, including bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, and more. • Monitor and document vital signs, and communicate with the nursing team regarding any changes in residents' conditions. • Facilitate resident mobility through safe transferring, repositioning, and ambulation, utilizing proper techniques. • Create a positive dining experience by assisting with meal preparations and dining services. • Support wellness and recreational programs, encouraging residents to engage and participate. • Maintain cleanliness in living areas through housekeeping and laundry services. In addition, you will aid nursing staff with procedures, document interactions and care outcomes, collect non-invasive specimens, and maintain infection control standards. You may also participate in committees as needed. Qualifications • High school diploma or GED preferred, though not required. • Minimum age of 16, with prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care being advantageous. • CNA certification is required with the State Board of Nursing within four months of starting, and training is provided by the facility. • Complete annual department-specific competency testing and maintain at least 12 hours of continuing education each year. • If applicable, be certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry.
