Key Responsibilities
As a Hospice Certified Nursing Assistant, you will provide essential personal care to patients, including:
• Changing bedding and clothing
• Bathing and assisting with hygiene routines
• Working with family members to instruct them on basic healthcare tasks
• Communicating regularly with registered nurses to update them on patient progress and family needs
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must meet one of the following criteria:
• At least 1 year of full-time direct client care experience in a hospital or nursing facility
• 1 year of direct client care experience within the last 5 years in a home health or hospice setting
• Completion of a state-approved training and competency evaluation program
• Registered and in good standing on the Nurse Aide Registry in your state
Additionally, you should possess a valid state driver's license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation. Effective communication and the ability to form relationships with patients and their families are essential.
