
Full Time Preoperative Registered Nurse in Gilliam, LA
Job Description
As a dedicated and competent Registered Nurse in the Preoperative unit, you will practice independently in a dynamic clinical environment. You will provide both routine and complex care to patients, demonstrating your capability to plan for long-term goals and manage various clinical contingencies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Exhibit OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Utilize the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation—to provide exceptional nursing care.
• Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families according to their care level.
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol while monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient histories, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess and address patient and family education needs while identifying concerns and available resources.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
• Licenses and Certifications: Current BLS, RN License in state of employment or compact, current ACLS certification, and current PALS or ENPC certification required.
Position Requirements:
• Attendance at New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire is mandatory for newly hired experienced RNs.
• Initial on-boarding will include preceptorship by a designated trained staff member and successful completion of competency validations.
• Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is also expected.
Additional Notes:
• One-year healthcare experience is needed for credential grace periods specific to certifications.
• Work Schedule: 5 Days - 8 Hours per day
