Position Summary:
As a Registered Nurse Circulator, you will play a vital role in planning, implementing, and evaluating surgical patient care. We are looking for someone with surgical experience who is ready to contribute to our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans based on patient needs.
• Ensure timely availability of necessary equipment and supplies for surgical procedures.
• Maintain a sterile field and initiate corrective actions as needed.
• Conduct and document accurate counts, ensuring patient safety.
• Position patients safely and effectively in the operating room.
• Monitor the OR environment and uphold sanitation policies.
• Manage medications and specimens in compliance with hospital policies.
• Prepare the OR for subsequent cases by returning equipment and supplies.
• Assist in the development of educational programs for staff training and orientation.
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care.
Position Requirements:
• Current licensure as a registered nurse in Tennessee.
• Nursing diploma or degree from an accredited institution.
• Prior surgical nursing experience required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to respond to the hospital within thirty minutes for on-call requirements.
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged standing and working for up to twelve hours a day.
• Capable of lifting and turning patients with assistance.
• Ability to push/pull objects up to 175 lbs and assist with patient mobility.
