Summary:
The skilled Registered Nurse in an Intermediate Care (IMC) Telemetry setting provides both routine and complex patient care. This role is designed for individuals who can effectively navigate the complexities of clinical nursing while demonstrating proficient decision-making and management skills. As a vital part of the healthcare team, you will be responsible for coordinating care and delegating tasks to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
• Exhibit competence in the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Deliver nursing care based on the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for your assigned patients.
• Address diverse psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families, aligning care with their specific circumstances.
• Administer medications and treatments per established protocols, monitoring for efficacy and potential side effects.
• Accurately document patient histories, symptoms, treatments administered, and care provided.
• Assess and educate patients, family members, and caregivers on health needs, ensuring resources are effectively utilized.
Job Requirements:
Education/Skills
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.
Experience
• At least 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
• BLS certification is required.
• Active RN License in the state of employment or compact is required.
Position Requirements:
Education/Skills
• All newly hired experienced RNs must complete New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of employment.
• New hires will be precepted by a designated trained staff member and must validate initial on-boarding requirements.
• Newly licensed RNs may take part in a residency program or specific orientation to develop their skills under supervision.
• Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is mandatory.
Experience
• One year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
• Current ACLS certification is required.
Per CHRISTUS Health policy, all associates must obtain required certifications within the specified time frame.
Credential Grace Periods:
Applicants with clinical experience in a related setting will be considered Experienced Associates or New Associates, impacting their certification grace periods.
• Experienced Associates must obtain ACLS within 30 days of hire, while New Graduates or those New to the Specialty have 90 days.
• Specific credential requirements with corresponding grace periods are outlined.
