Job Overview: The Med Surg RN will deliver planned and skilled nursing care during the night shift, from 6 PM to 6:30 AM, while collaborating with physicians and team members under the supervision of a designated supervisor. A minimum of two weekend shifts per month is required. Key Responsibilities: • Assess and document patient status consistently. • Execute treatments and follow physician orders. • Assist with patient positioning and transportation. • Maintain proficiency with relevant equipment, instruments, supplies, and procedures. • Document treatments, comments, and notes on patient charts accurately. • Administer medications, IV therapy, and drips as ordered by physicians. • Facilitate discharges for patients to home or other appropriate destinations as per physician’s orders. Requirements: • Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with a valid Illinois nursing license. • Current CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire). • Recommended Med Surg/ICU experience, although not mandatory. • Must be open to working overnight hours from 6 PM to 6:30 AM. Background Check and Drug Screening: All employees must successfully pass a Federal and State background check as well as a drug and alcohol screening that includes testing for both illegal and legal substances, including cannabis (THC). Compensation: Hourly wage ranges from $36 to $38.
