Summary:
As a skilled Registered Nurse, you will deliver both routine and complex care, assuring optimal patient outcomes. You will work independently while demonstrating a keen awareness of clinical situations, and contribute to developing strategic long-term goals. This role includes delegating tasks efficiently to manage clinical duties effectively.
Responsibilities:
• Exceed expectations in OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Others, or Leaders.
• Provide nursing care following the ANA Scope and Standards, utilizing the nursing process for patient assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families according to your level of practice.
• Safely administer medications and treatments per protocol, and monitor for effects and side effects of prescribed treatment.
• Maintain thorough documentation of patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess educational needs and provide relevant instruction to patients, families, and caregivers; identify issues and resources.
Job Requirements:
Education/Skills:
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience:
• Minimum of 1 year in a related nursing specialty preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
• BLS certification required.
• Current RN License in the state of employment or compact.
Position Requirements:
• All new RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within 30 days of hire.
• New hires will be paired with a designated preceptor for support during their onboarding phase, completing competency validations and skills training.
• New graduate RNs may participate in a residency program, achieving skill and competency completion with preceptors.
• Complete all annual competency verification requirements.
Certifications:
• Current ACLS certification is required.
All associates are mandated to obtain necessary certifications within the designated timeline as per CHRISTUS Health License, Certification, and Registration Verification Policy.
