
Full-Time Registered Nurse - Wound Care Specialist in Agua Fria, NM
Job Description
• Ensuring evidence-based practices for skin integrity and wound management.
• Managing and monitoring wound care programs to achieve quality patient outcomes.
• Collaborating with healthcare teams to develop effective patient education strategies.
• Creating and implementing educational programs for patients, staff, and other healthcare providers.
Requirements:
EDUCATION: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Current nursing license and BLS certification from the American Heart Association are required. Specialty certification in wound care from a nationally accredited body (e.g., CWCN, CWON, or CWOCN) is preferred.
SKILLS: Exceptional oral and written communication abilities are essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
• Competence in assessing, planning, and coordinating educational initiatives.
• Strong interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
• Effective teaching and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency in English; Spanish language skills are a plus.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two years of acute care nursing experience is required, with hands-on experience in managing complex wounds and ostomies.
NATURE OF SUPERVISION: This position reports to the Director of Wound Care, Clinical Director of Wound Care, and the Director of Patient Care for nursing supervision.
ENVIRONMENT: The work environment may include exposure to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and the need to multitask in patient care and staff development. You will encounter varying and unpredictable situations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must be able to handle emergencies and crises, which often require prolonged standing, walking, and the ability to lift, position, push, and/or transfer patients or equipment. Normal hearing and visual acuity, as well as manual dexterity and fine motor coordination, are necessary to operate hospital equipment and technology effectively.
