RESPONSIBILITIES: • Manage daily nursing operations on the unit under the guidance of the Director of Nursing (DON). • Oversee, delegate, and coordinate care provided by nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs). • Conduct regular assessments of residents' physical and emotional health; perform daily evaluations. • Provide direct nursing care as necessary, including IV starts, lab specimen collections, and prescribed treatments. • Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges with the healthcare team efficiently. • Document residents' medical status and updates accurately and promptly, including physicians' orders and interventions. • Maintain proactive communication with residents' families or power of attorneys (POAs) and attending physicians about changes in conditions. • Ensure timely completion of assessments (e.g., MDS) and resident care plans. QUALIFICATIONS: • Valid, unrestricted RN license in Connecticut. • Graduate of an accredited nursing program. • Current CPR/BLS certification as required by facility policy. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with residents, families, and care teams. • Compassionate, resident-centered approach with exceptional organizational and time management abilities. • Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing settings is preferred. • Ability to read, write, and understand English proficiently.
