Position Details:
• Self/preferential scheduling available four weeks in advance for a predictable work schedule.
• A culture of mutual respect and collaboration among all surgical staff.
• Continuous investment in advanced equipment and surgical tools to ensure patient safety and workflow efficiency.
• Regular rounding with unit leaders and charge nurses to ensure your input on patient care and surgical workflow improvements is acknowledged.
• Participation in on-call duties during select non-business hours is required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform preoperative evaluations of patients.
• Educate patients and their families about the procedures and peri-operative processes.
• Prepare patients for surgery, including managing intravenous therapy and administering preoperative medications.
• Engage in surgical site verification, including briefing, time out, debriefing, and adherence to universal protocols as per hospital policy.
• Recognize and respond effectively to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while promoting evidence-based practices and improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team comprising providers, surgeons, surgical technologists, and more.
• Employ nursing process, critical thinking, scientific judgment, technical skills, and leadership to ensure safe nursing care.
• Continuously assess patients' conditions, monitor changes, and document all care provided.
• Provide education to patients and families about medical conditions, treatments, and follow-up actions.
Qualifications:
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must also be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• Registered Nurse Diploma or equivalent qualification.
