Responsibilities
• Standards of Practice: Comply with ANA Scope and Standards of Practice (2015) to provide competent nursing care by performing assessments, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
• Assessment: Gather relevant data regarding the patient's health status or situation.
• Outcomes Identification: Establish tailored expected outcomes for each healthcare consumer.
• Planning: Create and modify personalized plans of care to meet identified outcomes.
• Implementation: Execute the developed plan of care.
• Coordination of Care: Ensure smooth transitions and continuous care delivery.
• Health Teaching and Promotion: Foster health and maintain a safe environment for patients.
• Evaluation: Assess progress toward achieving outcomes.
Standards of Professional Performance: Demonstrate behaviors aligned with professional nursing standards including ethics, cultural competency, effective communication, and quality practice.
• Ethics: Uphold ethical practices in all nursing actions.
• Culturally Congruent Practice: Embrace cultural diversity and inclusion in care.
• Collaboration: Work with patients and stakeholders to enhance nursing practice.
• Leadership: Lead within both practice settings and the nursing profession.
• Education: Pursue knowledge and skills that reflect current nursing practices.

Qualifications
Education: Required to be a graduate from an accredited nursing school, with BSN preferred. All newly hired RNs must hold current BCLS certification or obtain it within a month of hire.
Experience: As a foundational role, all RNs are encouraged to enhance their careers through the SPIRE clinical advancement program.
Licensure: Must hold a valid and current nursing license in the State of Connecticut. Clinical specialty certification is highly encouraged.
Special Skills: This position serves as the base for RNs, and advancement through the SPIRE clinical program is promoted.
Physical Demands: This role requires prolonged standing and walking, with frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and assisting patients ranging from five (5) to three hundred (300) pounds. Exposure to illness and moderate stress is expected.
