Responsibilities of Registered Nurses (RNs)
• Administer medications according to physician directives
• Provide physician-ordered treatments including:
• Nutrition via feeding tube
• Tracheostomy care
• Nasal, oral, and/or endotracheal suctioning
• Ventilation support
• Seizure assessment and management
Requirements for Registered Nurses (RNs)
• Active RN license
• Current BLS CPR certification (in-person only)
• Experience with G-tubes, tracheostomy, and ventilation, or willingness to learn
• Recent TB Skin Test (PPD) or TB Blood Test (QF)
• Completion of a DOEA-approved 2-hour Alzheimer’s training course (offered at no cost if needed)
• 1-hour DOEA Alzheimer’s Course video (available free on DOEA website)
