Your Role as a Hospice Registered Nurse:
• Deliver home-based care for patients with a prognosis of six months or less, prioritizing their comfort and quality of life
• Collaborate as part of a dedicated interdisciplinary team that includes physicians, LPNs, CNAs, HHAs, social workers, chaplains, and volunteers to implement patient care plans
• Conduct patient assessments, check vitals, evaluate respiratory function, manage pain, and administer prescribed medications and treatments
• Ensure the availability of medical equipment, prescribed oxygen, medications, and essential supplies
• Educate families about the patient’s prognosis, care plan adjustments, medications, and hospice objectives
• Adopt a holistic care approach that encompasses the mind, body, spirit, and family dynamics

Requirements for the Hospice Registered Nurse Position:
• Graduate from an accredited nursing school
• Hold an active and valid RN license in Kansas
• Possess a minimum of twelve (12) months of nursing experience within the last five (5) years; if not, demonstrate recent clinical knowledge as recognized by the DHCS
• New graduates must have 1200 hours of verified employment as a nurse within the past twelve (12) months or complete a company-approved Preceptor Program
• One (1) year of hospice care experience is preferred but not mandatory
