This 13-week contract role focuses on providing exceptional perioperative care in a Level 2 trauma hospital with a dedicated 13-bed PACU unit. The position requires a nurse ready to deliver thorough postoperative care, managing complex cases and contributing to positive patient outcomes. Responsibilities include assessing patients post-anesthesia, monitoring vital signs, managing IV lines, drips, arterial lines, and pain blocks, and collaborating effectively with surgical teams. The role requires flexibility in shift patterns with 12-hour shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM followed by on-call shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, typically once per week, plus an additional 48-hour weekend call every four weeks. Qualifications and Desired Experience: • Licensed Registered Nurse with 1-3 years of PACU experience • Experience working in a Level 2 trauma hospital setting • Certification in ACLS, PALS, and BLS required • Proficient in Meditech documentation system • Comfortable with IV starts, drips, arterial lines, and pain blocks • Able to adhere to a consistent call schedule and occasional floating to Day Surgery Schedule/Hours: • 12-hour shifts with on-call responsibilities as outlined • Approximately 36 hours per week plus call • Uniforms provided This contract assignment offers a dynamic work environment with supportive unit staffing, including unit secretaries and tech availability, ensuring the focus remains on high-quality patient care.
