JOB DESCRIPTION Job Description Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. This role requires a Registered Nurse with expertise in post-anesthesia care, providing vital support for patients through preoperative, Phase I, and Phase II recovery stages. Candidates will demonstrate advanced knowledge of anesthesiology and critical care, assessing surgical patients, monitoring vital signs, and proactively identifying potential complications. Key Responsibilities: • Deliver compassionate care to patients in pre-op and post-anesthesia phases. • Utilize critical care skills to assess incision sites, temperature, and other stability indicators. • Operate and monitor equipment including Meditech, PCA Pumps, Pyxis, Braun IV Pumps, Cryocuff, SCDs, Bair PAWS Warmers, and advanced monitors. • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care. Qualifications and Experience: • Minimum 2 years of critical care nursing experience (ER or ICU experience accepted as a substitute for PACU experience). • Current valid professional nursing license in the state of practice. • American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications required. • PALS certification recommended and may be required. • Additional certifications such as NIHSS and TNCC preferred depending on assignment. • Ability to pass employee health clearance, including flu vaccination or approved exemption. Schedule: • Shifts are varied: 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts across days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. • On-call responsibilities may be required up to 3 times monthly, including 8-hour night and 24-hour weekend/holiday shifts. • Flexibility is essential; shift preferences are not guaranteed. Location:This opportunity is based in Volcano, Hawaii, providing a unique geographic and cultural experience on the Big Island. Additional Requirements:Applicants must plan to arrive the Thursday prior to the start date to complete employee health appointments and must hold or obtain an active Hawaii nursing license before the assignment begins.
