The facility includes a critical access hospital with 25 private patient rooms, an expanded emergency room with 12 beds, and three full-size operating rooms. Recent expansions have added a Cardiac Catheterization Lab, upgraded imaging technology, and enhanced support for orthopedics and pediatric physical therapy. Carson Valley Health also features a sports medicine and rehabilitation center, ensuring patients receive top-notch care close to home./ppThe ICU Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing comprehensive critical level nursing care to patients with life-threatening conditions in the Intensive Care Unit. The RN is expected to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care, utilizing advanced clinical skills and critical thinking to manage complex patient conditions. In addition to performing patient assessments, administering medications, managing care plans, and critical thinking, this role involves continuous monitoring, detailed documentation, and effective communication with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes./ppPosition Requirements:/ppMinimum Education:/pulliGraduate of an accredited school of nursing./liliMinimum of an Associates Degree in Nursing./li/ulpLicense Required:/pulliCurrent Nevada RN license required./li/ulpCertificate Required:/pulliBLS for Healthcare Providers required./liliACLS certificate required./li/ulpMinimum Work Experience:/pulliProfessional customer service skills./liliAbility to read and communicate in English, bilingual abilities preferred./liliMinimum of 6 months ICU experience, 2 years ICU experience preferred./li/ulpPosition Essential Functions:/ppPatient Assessment:/pulliPerform comprehensive assessments of critically ill patients, including monitoring vital signs, interpreting laboratory results, and evaluating overall condition./liliDevelop and implement individualized care plans based on patient assessments, clinical data, and physician orders./liliContinuously monitor and reassess patient status, making rapid adjustments to care plans as needed./liliAccurately assess and document patient and family needs to provide quality care to assigned patients and ensure integration of information among the multi-disciplinary health care team./li/ulpMedication Management:/pulliAdminister medications, including IV drips, titrations, and emergency medications, with precision and attention to detail. Monitor for and manage potential side effects and interactions, and adjust dosages according to patient response./liliEducate patients and families on medication purposes, potential side effects, and post-discharge medication management./li/ulpCommunication:/pulliCommunicate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure seamless care coordination and continuity. Participate in daily rounds, bedside shift handoffs, and emergency briefings to discuss patient status, care plans, and any changes in condition./liliProvide clear, compassionate communication to patients and families, explaining complex medical information and addressing concerns./li/ulpDocumentation:/pulliAccurately document all aspects of patient care, including assessments, interventions, medications, and patient responses in the electronic health record (EHR)./liliEnsure documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
