ICU RN - Birmingham, Alabama in Birmingham, AL

A rewarding opportunity is available for a registered nurse with ICU experience to contribute to specialized patient care within a neuro unit. This contract position offers a chance to extend your critical care expertise and work alongside dedicated healthcare professionals handling complex neurological and post-operative surgical cases.

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients experiencing stroke, respiratory distress, and other critical conditions.
• Monitor and manage EVD devices and other specialized procedures within the neuro ICU setting.
• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation using Cerner electronic charting systems.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide support in floating roles as needed across critical care areas.
• Adhere to safety protocols and assist in infection control, including COVID-related treatments.

Qualifications:
• Current RN license with proven ICU experience.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Familiarity with critical care equipment and neuro ICU procedures.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts with every other weekend availability.
• Strong clinical judgment and patient assessment skills.

Schedule & Hours:
• 12-hour shifts, primarily from noon to midnight.
• Approximately 36 hours per week.
• Weekend shifts every other weekend.
• Floating as needed within ICU specialties.
