ICU RN Job Details Location: Kearney, Nebraska 68845 (Central Nebraska healthcare jobs) Assignment Length: 13-week travel nurse contract (Start: January 12, 2026 – End: April 13, 2026) Setting: Acute Care ICU (10 beds, average census 5+) Shift: 12-hour day shifts (6:00 AM – 6:30 PM), every other weekend required, up to 2 mandatory OT shifts per 6 weeks Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Charting System: EPIC EMR Floating: Required to PCU and Medical Surgical units as needed Registered Nurse Qualifications Active RN license (Nebraska or compact state) – eligible for Nebraska nursing jobs Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience Strong clinical background in cardiac care; experience with Balloon Pump and Impella Pump preferred Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Pediatric nursing experience preferred Ability to work weekends and float to other clinical units Excellent teamwork, communication, and clinical support skills ICU Nurse Responsibilities Provide high-quality critical care nursing to adult and select pediatric patients Monitor, assess, and respond to complex patient conditions (open hearts, CHF, COPD, sepsis, CVA, DKA, and more) Operate advanced cardiac devices including Balloon Pump and Impella Pump Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans Float to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Medical Surgical units as needed Document all care and interventions accurately in EPIC EMR system Comply with hospital policies including weekend, holiday, and floating requirements Why Choose Kearney, Nebraska?
