An opportunity for experienced ICU nursing professionals is available at a healthcare facility in Noblesville, Indiana. This contract position involves working primarily in the ICU with floating responsibilities to the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). Candidates must be able to care for higher patient ratios and demonstrate strong clinical judgment and critical care skills. Key Responsibilities include: • Managing complex critical care patients with diagnoses such as ARDS, STEMI, NSTEMI, DKA, and acute shock. • Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, obtaining and analyzing 12-lead EKGs/ECGs. • Administering IV insulin protocols, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and continuous IV sedation. • Providing post-cardiac surgery care and managing arterial lines, central lines, and ports. • Assisting with respiratory therapies including BiPAP, CPAP, ventilator management, and chest tube insertion/removal. • Managing emergency medications and procedural sedation. • Implementing infection prevention and isolation precautions utilizing PPE. • Performing phlebotomy and care of surgical wounds including wound VAC management. Qualifications and Experience: • Registered Nurse with 3+ years of ICU experience; candidates with less experience may be considered based on qualifications. • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required. • Ability and willingness to float to PCU as needed. • Pending license holders may apply provided they obtain an Indiana compact or temporary Indiana RN license prior to starting. • Must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays. • Strong assessment skills including interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs) and thermoregulation protocols. Schedule and Hours: • 8- and 10-hour shifts available. • Typical schedules include 3 or 4 twelve-hour shifts to complete 36 to 48 hours per week with guaranteed hours.
