
ICU RN - Verona, Wisconsin in Fitchburg, WI
Job Description
Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An exceptional opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with Cardiothoracic Intensive Care experience to contribute to high-quality patient care in a leading acute care setting. This 12-hour shift position on an acuity adaptable Cardiothoracic Surgery and Transplant unit offers a dynamic work environment where specialized nursing care and advanced technology converge to support patients undergoing complex cardiac and thoracic procedures, including heart and lung transplants.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver expert nursing care to critically ill patients post-cardiothoracic surgery.
• Operate and manage advanced medical devices such as the NextStage CVVH machine.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Provide compassionate support and education to patients and their families.
• Adapt quickly to changing patient acuity and clinical demands on the unit.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Active Wisconsin nursing license or compact license from a state within 50 miles of the assignment location.
• At least two years of acute care experience within the last three years.
• Specific CVICU experience is required.
• Proficiency with NextStage CVVH machine operation.
• Experience in a Cardiothoracic Surgery or acuity adaptable unit preferred.
• Certified in BLS and ACLS through the American Heart Association.
• Demonstrated telemetry skills with the ability to pass a telemetry test prior to starting.
• Epic electronic medical records experience preferred, ideally within the past year.
Schedule and Details:
• Day and/or Night 12-hour shifts (07:00-19:30 and/or 19:00-07:30).
• Work every other weekend and some holidays with no call duties.
• Floating to other units may be required based on staffing needs.
