ICU RN/Registered Nurse Illinois in Edwardsville, IL

An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with ICU experience to provide critical care in an acute care hospital setting. This position offers a focused ICU night shift schedule with a manageable 1: 1 to 1: 2 patient ratio, providing intensive support for a 6-bed unit. The role operates within a Magnet-designated hospital environment, emphasizing excellence in patient care alongside a dedicated Tele-ICU intensivist support system. Location: This position is based in Edwardsville, IL, a community known for its welcoming atmosphere and close proximity to both urban amenities and natural attractions. It offers convenient living with no parking costs at the facility, which is equipped with the Epic electronic health records system. Qualifications and Experience: Registered Nurse (RN) license with a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience outside orientation ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications required Willingness to work every other weekend Ability to work autonomously with critical care patients Flexibility to float within the scope of practice to Medical Cardiology or Med/Surg areas as needed Open to nurses with prerequisite ICU experience and first-timers accepted No pending licenses accepted Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (18: 45 07: 15) Guaranteed 36 hours weekly within the contract term Responsibilities: Provide high-quality critical care nursing in a small ICU setting with low nurse-to-patient ratios Collaborate with Tele-ICU intensivist consultants for patient management Serve as relief charge nurse as required Maintain comprehensive documentation in the EPIC system Adhere to facility protocols and patient safety standards while working independently Additional Details: Magnet facility with 97 staffed beds and acute care services No cost parking available Contract duration between 3 to 4 weeks, with biweekly start dates Return-to-office restrictions apply but are manageable within the contract timeframe If you have a passion for critical care and meet the qualifications, consider applying to contribute your expertise in a supportive, patient-focused environment.
