ICU RN/Registered Nurse Illinois in Chicago, IL

This contract opportunity offers skilled Registered Nurses specialized in Intensive Care a chance to work at a leading Level 1 Trauma Center, gaining exposure to a variety of ICU units and elevating your critical care expertise. Responsibilities: Provide exceptional nursing care across multiple ICU units, including Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU. Float between units as needed, adapting quickly to diverse patient care scenarios. Support staffing by potentially assisting medical-surgical units within scope. Participate in a structured orientation and precepting shift during day hours in your first week. Maintain meticulous, timely documentation utilizing Cerner charting system. Work a consistent night shift schedule of 3 twelve-hour shifts (7: 00 PM 7: 30 AM), approximately 36 hours weekly. Adhere to float requirements and scheduling guidelines, including weekend rotations every other weekend and specific time-off policies to ensure operational excellence. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in an ICU setting. Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications. Eligibility to practice within 75 miles of the facility; local candidates are preferred. Experience working in a high-acuity, fast-paced hospital environment. Adaptability to float between specialized ICU units is mandatory.
