ICU Step Down (Med/Surg SD) Registered Nurse
Location: Bronx, NY
Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: Days (3x12) | 7:30 AM – 8:00 PM | 34.5 Hours/Week
Pay: $2,415/Week
Job Overview:
We are seeking highly skilled Registered Nurses to support the ICU Step Down unit during a high census period. This role involves caring for patients transitioning out of the ICU who still require close monitoring. The RN will manage a patient ratio of 1:4, caring for patients ranging from young adults to geriatrics.
Key Responsibilities:
• High-Acuity Monitoring: Monitor patients with complex medical equipment including catheters, feeding tubes, tracheostomies, ventilators, and cardiac monitors.
• Patient Assessment: Conduct frequent assessments and escalate care immediately upon changes in patient condition.
• Emergency Response: Respond effectively to cardiac arrests and rapid response situations.
• Procedures: Perform IV insertions, phlebotomy, and administer conscious sedation as required.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
• Experience:
• Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical Step Down experience OR
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
• Technical Skills:
• 2 years of IV insertion & phlebotomy experience
• 2 years of conscious sedation experience
• Education: Associate’s Degree (ASN/ADN) in Nursing required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Licensure: Active New York State RN License
• Certifications:
• AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
• AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
