Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center (SBVCC) is recruiting for an Infection Prevention Nurse. This position is eligible for a $10,000 sign on bonus. The selected candidate must be flexible in scheduling to meet training requirements for a 24/7 facility with various shifts. May serve as a Charge Nurse for On-Call rotation.
Job Duties
• Responsible for the development, implementation, supervision and delivery of all infection surveillance, prevention and control.
• Updates infection control program including antibiotic stewardship and risk assessment and goals annually and as needed.
• Maintains infection control compliance and delivers all required training for infection control in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
• Reviews and assists facility with implementation of updated guidelines from the CDC, state and federal regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
• Licensed as an RN in the state of Virginia
• CIC Certification, or ability to attain it within 12 months of hire.
• Relevant clinical experience
• Working knowledge of the theory of practice of epidemiologic principles and infectious diseases.
• Experience supervising and evaluating patient care and staff performance
• Intermediate computer skills
Additional Considerations
• Experience working in a long term care facility
• Prior experience in Infection Control
