<div>Valley Medical Center (VMC) is actively recruiting<strong>&nbsp;a full-time (1.0 FTE)&nbsp;</strong><strong>Inpatient Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner</strong>. &nbsp;A Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides expert psychiatric consultation services to medically ill inpatients across hospital units at Valley Medical Center, including the emergency room, medical floor, surgical floors, critical care unit, and obstetrics. The key work is collaborative within a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and manage psychiatric and behavioral conditions that arise in the context of medical illness, hospitalization, or treatment.</div><p style=" line-height:normal;background:white;"><br></p><p style=" line-height:normal;background:white;">We are proud participants in the <strong>Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program</strong>&nbsp; &nbsp;</p><div><br></div><div><strong>About the position:</strong></div><ul><li>General Schedule: M-F, 8a-5p &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</li><li>No evening hours and no call</li><li><span style="font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: ;">Weekend and holiday shifts available for additional compensation.</span></li><li>Staffing: one inpatient Psychiatrist and one Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner</li><li>Provide psychiatric evaluations and treatment/management recommendations for hospitalized patients with comorbid medical and psychiatric or behavioral disorders.</li><li>Conduct suicide risk assessments and develop appropriate safety and treatment plans.</li><li>Assess and manage behavioral disturbances associated with dementia, delirium, or other neuropsychiatric and neurocognitive conditions.</li><li>Coordinate care with hospital staff to optimize patient outcomes and ensure integrated treatment approaches.</li><li>Support ED psychiatric counselor (LICSW, LMHC, SUDP) psychiatric evaluation and detainment processes; provide daily consult services for patients involuntarily detained in the ED or requiring inpatient admission.</li><li>Collaborate closely with Case Management Social Work services supporting best practices in stabilization and treatment options facilitating optimized discharge planning.</li><li>Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and provide recommendations to enhance patient care and staff collaboration.</li><li>Maintain familiarity with state laws and hospital policies governing involuntary psychiatric evaluation and treatment, including emergency holds.</li><li>Provide education, consultation, and support to nursing and other hospital staff regarding behavioral management, psychiatric symptoms, and de-escalation strategies.</li><li>Document evaluations, recommendations, and progress in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.</li></ul><div><strong>Qualifications:</strong></div><ul><li>PMHNP Certification</li><li><span style="border: 0px; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-size: 11pt; line-height: inherit; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size-adjust: inherit; font-kerning: inherit; font-feature-settings: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; color: inherit;">Ability to obtain a medical professional license in the State of WA</span></li><li><span style="border: 0px; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-size: 11pt; line-height: inherit; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size-adjust: inherit; font-kerning: inherit; font-feature-settings: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; color: inherit;">Ability to obtain a DEA license with full prescriptive authority</span></li></ul><p style="margin-bottom:0in;line-height:normal;background:white;"><a href="http://www.valleymed.org/" rel="noreferrer">www.valleymed.org</a></p><div><br></div><div>Located in Renton, Washington, <strong>Valley Medical Center</strong> is the largest not-for-profit healthcare provider between Seattle and Tacoma, serving more than 600,000 residents.
