Overview: Sign-on Bonus: up to $20,000 Department: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Employment Type: Full Time Shifts Available: Days/Nights Hours: 12-hour shifts - 7:00 am to 7:00 pm or 7:00 pm to 7:00 am Location: St. Mary's Medical Center - Blue Springs, MO As an ICU Registered Nurse (RN), you will play a vital role in providing direct, high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients within a dynamic Intensive Care Unit. This position demands exceptional clinical judgment, strong assessment skills, and the ability to swiftly respond to fluctuating patient conditions. Key Responsibilities: • Deliver exemplary care to critically ill patients by conducting comprehensive assessments, developing care plans, and implementing intricate nursing interventions. • Utilize advanced equipment such as cardiac monitors, pulse oximeters, blood pressure monitors, and ventilators to continuously monitor vital signs and physiological parameters. • Administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products safely, with accurate dosing and timing, while closely observing patient responses to ensure safety and effectiveness. • Manage life-support devices including ventilators and dialysis machines to provide optimal patient care. • Offer emotional support and education to patients' families, serving as a liaison to enhance their understanding of the care provided. • Document all aspects of patient care meticulously to ensure continuity and compliance while upholding infection control and safety protocols. Qualifications: • Current and Valid State RN License. • Current BLS Certificate Upon Hire. • Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of Hire. • Current ACLS Certificate within 30 days of hire. • Completion of Critical Care Course preferred. • One year of Acute Care Hospital experience preferred. • Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred. • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
