Job Description
Provide critical care expertise in a demanding ICU setting where patients face life-threatening conditions such as heart attacks, strokes, severe trauma, and respiratory distress. This contract opportunity is based in Lapwai, ID, offering a chance to deliver high-impact nursing care in a supportive environment focused on acute patient needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess patient conditions and develop, implement, and adjust care plans accordingly
• Administer intravenous fluids, medications, and advanced life support interventions
• Operate and monitor ventilators, intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), and other critical medical equipment
• Assist physicians during complex procedures and respond to life-saving emergencies
• Document vital signs and clinical changes accurately and promptly
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Advocate for patients and provide education and emotional support to their families
• Assist in the care of pre- and post-operative patients, contributing to policy and case management when applicable
Qualifications and Experience:
• Current Idaho RN license or active multi-state compact license (must be included with application)
• Certification in ACLS and BLS through the American Heart Association (documentation required)
• Minimum of 2 years recent ICU nursing experience
• Proficient in clinical assessment and critical care nursing protocols
