Intensive Care RN | Pelham, Alabama in Alabaster, AL

A nursing opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with ICU skills, specializing in neuro critical care. This contract position is based in Pelham, AL, offering a focused environment working with complex neurological cases.

Key Qualifications:
• Current Registered Nurse licensure with ICU experience
• Certification in BLS and ACLS required
• Proficient in managing stroke patients, complex post-operative surgical cases, respiratory distress, and COVID-related care
• Familiarity with Cerner charting system
• Experience with neurocritical care procedures, including External Ventricular Drain (EVD) management
• Ability to float within critical care units as needed

Responsibilities:
• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in a neuro ICU setting
• Monitor and manage critically ill patients with a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 2:1
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care plans
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner electronic health records
• Participate in a rotating schedule covering every other weekend and float when necessary within skillset

Schedule:
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour shifts, primarily during the day (12N)
• Call and on-site float may be required occasionally based on patient needs
