
Intensive Care RN/Registered Nurse Illinois in Chicago, IL
Job Description
Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years RN experience required.
Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide critical care nursing expertise in a dynamic ICU setting within a leading Level 1 Trauma Center located in Chicago, IL.
This contract position offers a structured schedule of three 12-hour night shifts per week (7:
00 PM to 7:
30 AM), delivering 36 guaranteed hours weekly without block scheduling.
Work every other weekend, with a maximum of five days off per month adhering to specific guidelines regarding holidays and weekends.
Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive intensive care nursing to patients across multiple ICU specialties, including Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU.
Flexibly float between ICU units and occasionally medical-surgical units as needed to support staffing.
Participate in a structured orientation and precepted shift during the first week, which is scheduled on days.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure excellent patient outcomes in a high-acuity environment.
Utilize electronic charting systems (Cerner) and maintain compliance with facility protocols.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Minimum of 2 years recent acute care experience in an ICU setting.
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
Ability to float as required within ICU specialties and medical-surgical units.
Strong critical thinking skills, adaptability, and commitment to patient-centered care.
Locally based candidates within a 75-mile radius preferred; pending licenses are not accepted.
