Overview: Sign-on Bonus: up to $20,000 Department: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Employment Type: Full Time Shifts Available: Days/Nights Hours: 12-hour shifts - 7:00 am to 7:00 pm or 7:00 pm to 7:00 am Location: St. Mary's Medical Center - Blue Springs, MO The ICU Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in providing exceptional nursing care to critically ill patients in a dynamic Intensive Care Unit environment. If you possess strong clinical judgment and advanced assessment skills and are ready to respond swiftly to changing patient conditions, we want to hear from you! As an ICU RN, you will be instrumental in delivering continuous patient monitoring, assessing vital signs and oxygen levels, and administering IV fluids and medications. Timely communication with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams will be essential to support and adapt patient care plans. You will deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while upholding the highest standards of safety and clinical excellence. Key Responsibilities: • Provide high-quality care to critically ill patients through detailed assessments, care plan development, and complex nursing interventions. • Utilize advanced medical equipment such as cardiac monitors, pulse oximeters, blood pressure monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, and capnography devices for continuous patient monitoring. • Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and blood products safely, ensuring precise dosing and timing while monitoring patient responses closely. • Manage life-support devices including ventilators and dialysis machines. • Offer emotional support and education to patients' families, ensuring they are informed about the care being provided. • Document all aspects of patient care meticulously to ensure compliance and continuity, while adhering to strict infection control and safety protocols. Qualifications: • Current and Valid State RN License. • Current BLS Certificate upon hire. • Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire. • Current ACLS Certificate within 30 days of hire. • Completion of Critical Care Course preferred. • One year of Acute Care Hospital experience preferred. • Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred. • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
