
Interventional Radiology (RN) | Albuquerque, New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM
Job Description
A specialized opportunity for registered nurses with interventional radiology (IR) experience is available in Albuquerque, NM. This contract position offers an engaging clinical environment at a leading Level I Trauma and Teaching Hospital that also serves pediatric patients. The role demands expertise in IR nursing, a commitment to quality care, and the ability to support critical procedures in a fast-paced acute care setting.
Responsibilities:
• Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures.
• Maintain 1:1 patient-to-nurse ratios to ensure patient safety and quality.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams within a Level I Trauma and Childrens Hospital.
• Utilize Cerner for electronic charting and documentation accuracy.
• Adhere to all clinical protocols, including COVID vaccination policies and exemption processes.
• Maintain BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications to meet clinical requirements.
• Work a day shift schedule consisting of three 12-hour shifts (06:00 to 18:30).
• Be prepared for up to 40 contracted hours with flexible call-off allowances.
• Operate within hospital guidelines, including a 75-mile radius local restriction for candidates.
Qualifications:
• At least 2 years of IR nursing experience; first-time IR RNs are not accepted.
• Current licenses accepted pending verification.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS.
• Ability to meet COVID vaccination requirements or approved exemption.
• Capability to work Fridays, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Comfortable adapting within scope to meet facility needs; no block scheduling accommodations.
• Willingness to comply with hospital-specific policies and shift expectations.
