As a Labor and Delivery RN, you will be responsible for:
• Implementing and monitoring patient care plans.
• Communicating and documenting patient conditions appropriately.
• Coordinating care across disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care.
• Carrying out physician and nursing orders.
• Assessing and coordinating discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
• Providing individualized care based on your assessments that consider physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and age-related needs.
• Delegating tasks to nursing personnel based on their education and expertise for optimal patient care.
• Participating in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds to contribute to the development of care plans.
• Demonstrating adherence to ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice and Code of Ethics.
• Engaging in professional growth activities outside of patient care.
Qualifications:
• Prior lab and delivery experience is essential.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing school.
• Associate degree is required; BSN is preferred.
• Current RN license in Connecticut is mandatory.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• Two years of Medical-Surgical/Critical Care experience is preferred.
