Pay Information: Internal Hires: Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based on applicable Rules or Union Contract Terms. Job Summary: The Lactation Consultant RN provides clinical support to promote, protect, and support breastfeeding as a public health priority. Responsibilities include conducting focused assessments of the breastfeeding dyad, formulating care plans within the RN's scope of practice, and coordinating with providers and interdisciplinary teams to support optimal outcomes. This role serves as a key resource and educator on lactation best practices, offering guidance to patients, staff, and community partners. Minimum Qualifications for the Job: • License: Current State of Alaska RN License • Experience: Two (2) years' nursing experience in an obstetrics-related environment. • Preferred Experience: Previous lactation experience preferred • Certification(s): International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) Practice Notice: • All new employees are required to produce a negative drug screen for all illegal substances in the state of Alaska prior to the start of employment.
