Job Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides essential nursing care to residents of all ages in long-term care settings. Working under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician, the LPN demonstrates expertise in nursing principles, adapts care according to residents' diverse needs, and performs evaluations and interventions that align with each resident's care plan.
This role requires dedication to ensuring the health, comfort, and safety of residents. Responsibilities include:
• Assessing residents and administering medications or treatments as prescribed.
• Providing technical support to healthcare professionals as needed.
• Documenting resident interactions and care outcomes effectively.
• Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with residents and the healthcare team.
• Communicating clearly and upholding confidentiality.
• Educating and counseling residents and families regarding treatment and prevention plans.
Your ability to recognize problems, recommend solutions, and respond effectively in emergencies will be crucial.
Qualifications
• Must be a graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse; an associate degree is preferred.
• Possess a valid, unencumbered LPN license and maintain required competencies and certifications.
• Ensure completion of ongoing continuing education units (CEUs) as required.
