Job Summary The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in providing professional nursing care for residents in long-term care, under the guidance of registered nurses, advanced practice providers, or physicians. Key responsibilities include: • Applying nursing principles to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of residents. • Administering medications and treatments as prescribed. • Documenting resident care interactions and outcomes accurately. • Collaborating effectively within an interdisciplinary care team. • Communicating with residents and families about treatment plans. Additionally, the LPN must demonstrate the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations and ensure the health, comfort, and safety of all residents. Qualifications • Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse, with an associate degree preferred. • Hold an unencumbered LPN license from the State Nursing board or possess multi-state licensure privileges. • Complete required competencies and annual continuing education units (CEUs).
