Licensed Vocational Nurse Oncology Acute CareFull-Time
4 East is a complex and fast paced 33 bed Medical Surgical unit that specializes in the care of oncology patients. Our goal on 4 East is to provide exceptional nursing care with a caring and compassionate focus while maintaining the dignity and respect of our patients. We take a holistic approach to our care including patient, family, care takers and anyone designated by the patient. We collaborate with other departments using a multidisciplinary approach to ensure that our patients get the best, most efficient, and highest quality care. Our nurses are required to complete the UMC Chemo Certificate Course and are encouraged to obtain other national certifications. Job Summary:
Professional nurse who assesses, delegates, and reviews nursing care and functions in accordance with established philosophy, providing patient care for a group of patients per scope of practice. Relates effectively with other shifts/departments for optimal continuity of care.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
Valid Texas LVN License/Eligible Compact License
Must maintain a current BLS certification from American Heart Association
