Job Description
The Medical Oncology Registered Nurse will work in outpatient settings and provide care to adult patients with hematology and oncology diagnoses. This role requires collaboration with physicians and entails triage, IV starts, and patient assessments. Floating to other infusion centers in the greater Charlotte area is required.
Responsibilities
• Administer chemotherapy and other treatments as directed by physicians.
• Perform triage assessments and start IVs for outpatient chemotherapy.
• Monitor patients for side effects and assess their response to treatment.
• Maintain detailed patient records in the EPIC charting system.
• Educate patients and their families about treatment plans and support services.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical oncology nursing.
• Must have outpatient experience.
• Current BLS certification required; chemotherapy certification preferred.
• Strong phlebotomy and IV therapy skills required.
