Job Description

The Med-Surg/Tele Registered Nurse will provide care to adult patients with a medical focus, including those with neurological conditions such as stroke, seizure, and dementia. Responsibilities include managing IV therapy, blood product administration, and responding to emergency situations. The RN will work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
• Provide care for patients with neurological conditions and general med/surg diagnoses.
• Administer medications including insulin and heparin.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and manage dysrhythmias.
• Perform respiratory care including CPAP/BiPAP management and tracheostomy care.
• Ensure adherence to isolation precautions and IV insulin protocols.
• Collaborate with physical therapy, respiratory services, and other interdisciplinary support teams.
• Document patient care accurately using the Epic charting system.
• Participate in unit floating and fulfill weekend and holiday requirements as needed.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• 2 years of nursing experience required.
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required.
• PA or Compact nursing license in hand.
• Experience with IV therapy and phlebotomy preferred.
